CERF Members who have accepted abstracts pay a non-refundable registration fee ($125) to cover costs of processing and publication of the proceedings.

DEFINITION:
"Stakeholder engagement is the process of involving individuals or groups who have an interest in an organization's activities and decisions in the organization's planning and execution. It involves building relationships, facilitating communication, and actively seeking input from stakeholders to ensure their perspectives are considered and incorporated into the organization's work."

DESCRIPTION: Engaging stakeholders ensures that chiropractic programs are relevant to community needs, enhances the quality of education, and fosters trust and collaboration among different groups involved in healthcare.

Strengthen Networks

Engaging stakeholders helps build stronger networks between chiropractic programs, healthcare providers, community organizations, and other relevant groups, leading to more effective and coordinated healthcare delivery.

Build Trust

By actively involving stakeholders, chiropractic programs build trust and credibility with the communities that they serve, leading to stronger relationships and increased support for their programs.

Collaboration

Stakeholder engagement fosters a collaborative environment where different groups can work together to improve chiropractic education and healthcare.

Improve Curriculum

By involving stakeholders, chiropractic programs can ensure that their curriculum is relevant, up-to-date, and prepare graduates for the challenges they will face in their chiropractic careers. This can lead to more competent and well-prepared healthcare professionals.

Enhance Learning

Engaging stakeholders provides students with real-world perspectives and experiences, enriching their learning and preparing them for the complexities of healthcare practice

Prepare Graduates

Engaging stakeholders ensures that chiropractic programs are producing graduates who are well-equipped to address the health needs of their communities, leading to improved health outcomes.

Identify Accurate Targets

By engaging stakeholders, inputs from a broad range of people provides a wider view of problems and solutions. Using thinking only from an insulated group of people limits possibilities. By using evidence from stakeholder input, targets and outcomes are more accurately identified.

Address Community Needs

Stakeholder engagement, including patients, community leaders, and healthcare providers, helps chiropractic programs understand the health needs of the population. This understanding allows them to tailor their curriculum and training to address those needs effectively.

Promote Equity

Engaging diverse stakeholders ensures that all voices are heard and that the chiropractic programs are accessible and responsive to the needs of all community members, including those from marginalized groups.

Patient-centered care

By involving patients and their families in the education process, chiropractic programs can foster a culture of patient-centered care, where the needs and preferences of patients are prioritized.
